HISTORY OF OLIVE
The history of olives and olive trees extends from Asia Minor, Near East to Mesopotamia, ancient Greece, Egypt and Rome. Many civilizations have benefited from olives and olive trees in history. Many research articles and sources on olive contain legends dating back 10-12 thousand years. According to a legend in the Old Testament, after the flood of Noah, a pigeon leaving Noah's Ark returned to the Ark on Mount Ararat with an olive branch, marking the end of flood. The olive branch has thus become the symbol of peace. From past to present, the olive tree has been cited as "the first tree of all, immortal tree", symbol of peace and sacred tree.
With the maturation of olive cultivation processes, namely production of grafted seedlings, processing technology, storage and trade for better crops in Anatolia in 4000 BC, the olive cultivation spread into three branches with the 1st Branch to Aegean islands, Greece, Italy, Spain; 2nd Branch to Northern Africa, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, and 3rd Branch to Syria and Iran, as stated by historians.

During the archeological studies of 6th century BC in Urla Klazomenai, it was observed that names and brands were written on the shoulders and neck parts of amphora used by producers and exporters as packaging in olive oil trade.
ABOUT US
Lotus Global Trade is a producer, importer and exporter focused on olive oil production, as a supplier of natural and organic food products established in Izmir in 2016. We supply our products from farmers’ olive groves together with those from our company-owned lands in the high mountains of Southwestern Anatolia, located in the unique climate of the Aegean and Mediterranean regions.
Together with our partner farmers and factories, we produce our products according to export quality standards and deliver them to our customers in a timely and reliable manner in measurable form.
PRODUCTION
Olives, which are carefully hand-picked in the earlier period (October-November) in each season from our own olive groves in the mountain villages and the olive groves of our partner farmers with whom we have agreements, are placed in crates carefully as to avoid crushing, brought to the factory within 4-8 hours and processed after sorting. Our olive oils obtained by cold press method are transferred, avoiding contact with air, in filtered or unfiltered form, into chrome steel tanks which are classified according to their properties. Thus, the sterols necessary for human health, and the flavor, taste, and sensation, are at the highest level in “Oliva & Olei” brand olive oils.
Bottling and packaging are performed using fully-automatic filling machines upon order according to the planned production method and quantity. The product input, production and output quality control units are carefully monitored during the process of execution and completion of all works.
